Consumer Electronics Show popularly known as CES, an annual tread show organized by the Consumer Technology Association every year gives a chance to all the companies standing in the arena of technology to show the tech which is built and developed by their research and development team.
Many companies come with their innovative idea and creation from all categories. Sony which holds 10th place in the list of the largest technology companies, one of the regular company who always introduces new things in CES, has launched three mid-range smartphones in CES 2018.
The Sony Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia L2 camera focused smartphone which is introduced and the shipping will start from February 2018.
Sony Xperia XA2
Xperia XA2 comes with a 5.2inches 1920 x 1080px FHD (~424ppi), 2.5D curved display (lack of trendy 18:9 surface) protected with Corning Gorilla Glass (unspecified version) available in Silver, Black, Blue, and Pink colored metallic back panels.
This smartphone is powered by the newly launched Snapdragon 630 an octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with a clock speed of 2.20GHz with Adreno 508 GPU. XA2 will be available with 3GB of RAM and 32GB eMMC internal memory which is expandable up-to 256GB by microSD (hybrid). It runs with the latest version of Android 8.0 (Oreo).
As the camera is the main focus of this device, it comes with a 23MP f/2.0 rear camera with AF, phase detection, and enhanced low light photography and supports 120fps slow-motion and 4K video recording. 120° super wide-angle 8MP f/2.4 front-facing selfie camera fit lots of friends and more of the scenery into your selfie. A 3300mAh battery is placed to give power to this device which lasts a day and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Type-C. Bluetooth 5 and NFC with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, single speaker on the bottom and retained the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra
The Xperia XA2 Ultra comes with a larger display of 6inches 1920 x 1080px FHD (~367ppi) 2.5D curved display also in Silver, Black, Blue, and Gold metallic back panels. The chipset and OS are same as Xperia XA2 but there is a little difference in storage variant. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB eMMC internal memory expandable up to 256GB by microSD (dedicated).
The camera of XA2 Ultra is 16MP f/2.0 OIS, AF + 8MP f/2.4 120° super wide-angle dual selfie cameras, and 23MP f/2.0 rear camera also supports 120fps slow-motion and 4K video recording. The 16MP camera features OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), which improves low-light performance assisted by a LED flash to really brighten up shots without any loss of quality. Meanwhile, the 8MP camera boasts a 120-degree field of view, allowing you to pack in a whole group of people for a selfie. Even a bigger battery makes it an Ultra device it packs a 3,580mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Type-C.
Rest is same as XA2 Bluetooth 5 and NFC with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, single speaker on the bottom and the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The budget-conscious L model. This device comes with
5.5inches 1280 x 720px (~267ppi) IPS LCD. It is running on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) powered by MediaTek MT6737T CPU Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and GPU Mali-T720MP2. And with 3GB of RAM and 32GB eMMC internal storage, expandable up to 256GB microSD (dedicated). The rear camera is 13MP f/2.0 AF with 1080p video recording on 30fps. And the same 8MP f/2.4 120° super wide-angle selfie camera. All the major sensors like Compass, Proximity, Accelerometer and Fingerprint(rare-mounted) is placed with Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB Type-C. A High capacity 3,300mAh battery power the device which lasts a day and a half in normal use. And there is still no replacement for the 3.5mm headphone jack. All plastic design body available in Black, Gold and Pink colors in the market.
