Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, keeps unleashing innovative products which make life easier for tech lovers. Today, the Xiaomi Launches XPRINT Pocket AR Photo Printer a portable smartphone image printer which uses sublimation printing technology with 256 color levels to efficiently prevent the printing issues with droplet inkjet ink technology. Xiaomi XPRINT Pocket AR Photo Printer does more than just print pictures.
The XPRINT Pocket AR Photo Printer adds a mix to its own pictures. When you take a picture (with the dedicated app I presume), you can also record a short video. The app then “integrates” the video into the photo before printing.
The image resolution is up to 300dpi. Also, it prints automatically with a transparent colorless protective film which does not need mounting or coating. It uses a printing paper produced by a Japanese company, DNP, and these images can be stored at room temperature for decades without fading.
Furthermore, this smartphone image printer supports AR photo technology. You can always experience the real and AR interactive photo effects. With the use of a bright air platform AR engine. Xiaomi says the photo recognition response of this printer is less than 280 milliseconds with a tracking speed of up to 120 frames/second.
The printer connects to your device via Bluetooth or NFC and works with devices running Android 5.0 and above or iOS 9.0 and up. It comes in white and measures 133 x 80 x 27mm and weighs 237g without the photo tray and 268g with the photo tray. It has a 650mAh battery capacity and thankfully can be recharged with a power bank.
The XPRINT Pocket AR Photo Printer prints 54 x 86 mm photos with a 291 x 294 resolution. The printer is priced at ¥399 (~$63) and the photo paper is priced at ¥39.9 (~$6) with 20pcs/pack. The printer itself can take 10 paper films at a time.
