We know that the Huawei P20 will not be at the upcoming MWC 2018 event in Barcelona. We also know that the Chinese OEM has planned an event on March 27 in Paris. The device should be hitting retail and online stores in April, with pre-orders starting right after the announcement.

The phone’s camera, on the other hand, packs a triple 40-megapixel lens setup on the back with Leica’s branding still, while the front shooter is likely to show off a 24-megapixel lens. Dubbed the ProTriple-lens design, the rear camera setup reportedly supports 5x hybrid zoom, per Evan Blass.

Also, we got details of the three phones’ codenames and color variants courtesy of tipster Roland Quandt, who says the standard P20 and P20 Plus, whose codenames are Emily and Charlotte, respectively, will be sold in Ceramic Black and Twilight color variants. On the other hand, the P20 Lite is codenamed Anne and will be sold in Midnight Black, Klein Blue, and Sakura Pink.

Earlier XDA Developers reported that have had access to the firmware files seemingly on the P20 handsets, which revealed that these devices could sport a notch at the top of the screen. The notch at the top of the screen is indicated by a cutout at the top of the device’s display, similar to what we have seen on the iPhone X and the Essential Phone. Now they report that the Huawei P20 running Android 8.0 Oreo and EMUI 8.0.1.

Since the last two months, it is being consistently reported that the Huawei P20 would feature a triple camera on the rear. Some more evidence regarding the same has been out by the rumor mill today.

The earliest info pointed to a horizontal triple camera setup on the Huawei P20. However, this new leak presents back cases that show a vertical cutout on the top left side of the device. Also, there’s no fingerprint scanner at the rear of the alleged Huawei P20.

Currently, there’s nothing official to indicate what the P20 series might look like, but we do have some unofficial renders floating around the web courtesy of Chinese microblogging website, Weibo

Maybe Huawei wanted to save the P20 announcement from the tons of new devices that are set for unveiling at the MWC, which includes the  Samsung Galaxy S9Asus ZenFone 5, Sony Xperia XZ Pro, etc.
