Xiaomi is reportedly working on the successor of Mi 5X, which was launched globally as Mi A1. The smartphone is dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 6X and is likely to be launched in India as Mi A2. The Xiaomi Mi 6X had leaked several times now, same goes for its alleged cases, and now a new leak has surfaced, showing off a silicone case which is made for the device.
If you take a look on this, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will sport a vertically-aligned camera in the upper-left corner, similar to the iPhone X. The device’s LED flash will probably be located there as well, and its fingerprint scanner will sit on the back of the phone as well, in the usual place. The new leaked image was posted on Weibo and spotted by OnPhones. It shows the rear side of the Xiaomi Mi 6X and it is very much in line with the recent leaks.
Reportedly, the smartphone it will feature a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is likely to feature 5.7-inch or 5.9-inch display that will support Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 px) resolution. It’s also expected to be powered by Xiaomi’s in-house Surge S2 chipset, which uses various ARM Cortex cores and is built using a 16-nm process. we’ll probably see more leaks and rumours in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that.
According to rumours Xiaomi is expected to announce Surge S2 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona next month.
According to leaked specification, the Xiaomi Surge S2 will have four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and the other four ARM Cortex A73 cores clocked at 2.2GHz. The SoC is coupled with Mali G71 MP8 GPU for improved power efficiency which is a significant upgrade over the Mali-T860MP4 GPU found in the Surge S1. Other rumoured features of Surge S2 are UFS 2.1 storage and LPDDR4 RAM.
