Samsung Electronics now adapted dual camera setups for its mid-range smartphone like Samsung Galaxy A8+ 2018 edition. Now the company just announced ISOCELL Dual, all-in-one dual camera kits, prepackaged with the accompanying software algorithms. The setups would allow phone makers to take advantage of hardware-level bokeh effects, or low-light capture improvements to it’s mid to entry-level phones quickly with an integrated solution.
Dual camera smartphones are a growing trend. However, integrating dual cameras can be a difficult process for original equipment manufacturers (OEM), as it requires time-consuming optimization between the OEMs and different vendors developing the sensors and algorithm software.
To accelerate development and reduce optimization difficulties with dual camera smartphones, Samsung now offers the industry’s first total dual camera solution, with both ISOCELL Dual sensor hardware and sensor-optimized algorithm software. This enables even mid- to entry-level mobile devices to utilize popular dual camera features like refocusing and LLS.
Samsung’s total dual camera solution will simplify that process and enable mid- to entry-level mobile devices to take advantage of certain camera features mainly available in premium devices equipped with an extra image signal processor.
Instead, companies can choose between a 13MP + 5MP setup for a bokeh-shooting camera and an 8MP + 8MP for a low-light camera. The image processing is tuned specifically for each camera sensor for best results.
