Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus launched the ZenFone Max (M1) on 27 February at MWC 2018. The smartphone was launched along with the ZenFone 5 series of smartphones. The smartphones launched under the ZenFone 5 series include ZenFone 5Z, ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5 Lite.
The Asus ZenFone Max (M1) is the most affordable model from the company with the modern design. The smartphone has a 5.5 inch IPS LCD 1440 x 720p 18:9 aspect ratio display. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad-core or Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-core chipset with 2/3GB RAM and 16/32GB storage. Which further expanded up to 256 GB through micro-SD card.
The smartphone has a dual primary camera setup with a 13 MP primary sensor and an 8 MP wide angle lens with the electronic image stabilisation. For the front-facing camera, the smartphone offers an 8 MP sensor. The rear camera is capable of recording FHD videos.
Connectivity options on the smartphone includes dual Nano SIM card slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The ZenFone Max (M1 boasts of a beefy 4,000mAh battery with ASUS PowerMaster technology. ASUS claims that the battery offers 41 hours on standby, 36 hours of 3G talk time, up to 23 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi, or up to 16 hours of video playback. The smartphone also comes with reverse charging support for other devices.
The Asus ZenFone Max (M1) will be available in Deep Sea Black, Sunlight Gold, and Ruby Red colour variants. For software, the device gets the latest ZenUI 5.0 based on Android Oreo. The phone also comes with face unlock and a fingerprint scanner for security.
