Vu Televisions on Tuesday unveiled three new affordable 4K UHD Smart TVs in a bid to take on Xiaomi, which recently disrupted the TV segment in India with its Mi TV lineup. Vu has been known to offer affordable TVs in India. Now Vu unveiled 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch 4K UHD TVs running official Android software at affordable price tags.

While one would naturally assume that the new Vu 4K UHD TVs come as a direct competition to Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4, Vu says it is largely targeting high-end brands like Sony and Sharp whose Smart 4K UHD TVs typically cross the Rs 1 lakh mark. The company feels that its 4K UHD TV with top-end specifications and support for a variety of content all at an aggressive pricing will allow it to take smart 4K TVs mainstream.

Vu 4K UHD Android TV Specification:

The 43-inch, 49-inch, and 55-inch Vu Android 4K UHD TVs come with an A+ Grade IPS panel with 3840×2160 pixel resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz. All three are powered by a quad-core processor coupled with 2.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The displays support dynamic contrast, high bright mode, smooth motion control and wide viewing angle among other things.

This Android-powered TV unlocks official access to the Google Play Store, YouTube, Google Games, and the complete Google ecosystem. In addition to the company’s partnership with Google, Vu has also partnered with leading Video on demand service providers like Netflix, Hotstar, and ALTBalaji, to provide certified VOD apps thus allowing users to access unlimited and latest content in an authorized manner. Notably, users will be able to stream 4K content on Netflix, something that is not an option as of now with the 55-inch Mi TV 4.

All three Vu 4K UHD TVs run official and licensed Android 7.0 Nougat and the company also promise to upgrade to the latest Android OS in the future.Connectivity options for the latest Vu Android TVs include Wi-Fi and Ethernet, Bluetooth, 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports. Additionally, the TVs come with two 10W box speakers, a built-in Dolby soundbar with DTS support and a headphone jack among other things. A voice controlled remote will be shipping along with the TVs as well.

The TVs also support Google Chromecast allowing you to cast movies and shows from your Android, iOS, Mac, Windows or Chromebook to the TV. Additionally, the TVs also feature an inbuilt Google Chromecast.

The TV is equipped with ActiVoice feature in a remote, which helps users to search, browse and select in 88 languages. The ActiVoice search intelligence is also enabled to search within apps and recommend results according to a user’s preference.

Vu 4K UHD Android TV Pricing and Availability:

The company has priced its 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch Android 4K UHD TVs at Rs 36,999, Rs 46,999 and Rs 55,999, respectively. The TVs will be going on sale starting midnight on March 16 exclusively on Flipkart.
