Apple is rumored to launch the smaller and cheaper iPhone with iPhone X-like edge-to-edge display. A video leaked on Thursday that allegedly showed Apple’s upcoming iPhone SE 2 for the first time. The clip, which was spotted by Mac Otakara, first surfaced on Chinese social media site Weibo. The Weibo user who posted the 30-second video says it shows off Apple’s new design for the rumored successor to the popular iPhone SE model.
While Apple hasn’t confirmed anything itself, there have been a number of reports indicating the iPhone SE 2 is in development. The 30-second clip shows what is allegedly an upgraded version of the little iPhone Apple introduced in 2016, and it does indeed seem real.
Take a look at the alleged iPhone SE 2 in the video here:
Aside from getting to see its potential design, there’s not much else to take away from this leak. It really does come across as a smaller iPhone X. iOS, too, is unchanged because Apple maintains the same experience across all hardware.
Now, the exclusive renders from BGR reveal a similar looking device. Instead of launching it as iPhone SE2, the company might bring out later this year as smaller iPhone X.
With the lack of a home button, we don’t think the company will skip the Face ID on this upcoming low-cost iPhone. Talking about the device, it will be coming with the Aluminum frame instead of the stainless steel frame. While the power button sits on the top edge, the rounded volume rocker and ringer switch are placed on the left edge. On the bottom edge, we can see the lightning port and loudspeaker.
There is no 3.5mm audio jack on this new iPhone, and the user has to depend on the single lighting port for charging and connecting headphones.
