HTC has quietly unveiled two new smartphones in the Desire-series via its official Twitter handle. named as HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+, both smartphones come with HTC’s ‘Liquid Surface’ design, and offering a premium look and feel. The Desire 12 is powered by a MediaTek MT6739 SoC with up to 3GB RAM. Whereas the Desire 12+ is powered by Snapdragon 450 with 3GB RAM.
Besides the ‘Liquid Surface’ design, another highlight of both smartphones is the 18:9 display. The Desire 12+ is also HTC’s third smartphone after One M8 and One M9+ to come with a dual camera set up at the back.
HTC Desire 12 :
The Desire 12 features a 5.5-inch HD+ (1440×720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by MediaTek MT6739 SoC, which is clocked at 1.3 GHz and based on ARM Cortex-A53 architecture with PowerVR GE8100 GPU. As for the RAM, the handset is comes in three variants – 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage which further expandable up to 2TB through microSD card slot. It runs on HTC Sense UI on top of Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
In the camera department, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. With connectivity options such as Bluetooth, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and GPS. The smartphone is powered by a 2,730mAh battery.
HTC Desire 12+ :
Whereas the Desire 12+ sports a 6-inch HD+ (1440×720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device comes powered by Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and runs on HTC Sense UI on top of Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. As for the RAM, the handset comes in only one variant –3GB RAM + 32GB storage which further expandable up to 2TB through microSD card slot.
In terms of camera department, the Desire 12+ comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera supplemented with a 2-megapixel sensor to let you add bokeh effects to your photos, and also lets you refocus them after the photos have been captured. There is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with a dedicated soft LED flash. With a 2,965mAh battery, connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 4G LTE with VoLTE. The HTC Desire 12 and Desire 12+ come in Black, Silver, Purple and Gold colors, are priced at 200 Euros (US$ 246 / Rs. 16,055 approx.) and for 250 Euros (US$ 307 / Rs. 20,070 approx.), respectively and will go on sale in Europe starting from April.
