During the launch of the ZenFone 5Z in July, Asus CEO said that ROG gaming smartphone will be coming to India on in Q3 of 2018. Now Asus set to launch Asus ROG gaming smartphone in India on November 29.
At Computex 2018, The Taiwanese Tech. Gaint Asus launched a phone under its gaming brand Republic of Gamers (ROG)- the ROG Phone. At the time of launch, Asus did not share price or availability details of the ROG Phone but did say that it will make its way to India soon.
Although the ROG Phone is not only in the market. Xiaomi’s Black Shark gaming smartphone and Razer Phone are its competitors. But the things ROG Phone stand alone in queue i.e. it’s 90Hz refresh rate display with 1ms response time, 3D vapour-chamber cooling system and much much more.
This is not only the features that ROG Phone can provide you. It comes with Asus Aura RGB lighting and Aura Sync support and ASUS HyperCharge direct-charge technology.
The ROG Phone can be turned into a dual-screen console with the help of TwinDock accessory. This dock has four quad front-facing speakers, two physical trigger keys, a dual-haptic force-feedback engine, an enhanced cooling system as well as a 6,000mAh extended battery pack.
A second accessory for the ROG Phone — the Mobile Desktop Dock — allows it to connect to an external 4K UHD monitor, mouse and keyboard.
Asus ROG Phone specifications
It features a 6-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) HDR display with 90Hz refresh rate display and 1ms response time. Under the hood, the smartphone is power by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which is overclocked to 2.96GHz, with Adreno 630 GPU and coupled 8GB of RAM. Available in 128GB and 512GB storage variant.
In terms of the optic department, On the back, the dual rear camera includes 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. And the front camera with an 8-megapixel.
The ROG Phone runs on ROG Gaming UI on top of Android 8.0 and is powered by a 4000mAh non-removable battery that promises 7 hours of Wi-Fi gameplay. The company also claims that the battery is capable of getting to 60 percent of charge in 33 minutes.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ad, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, AGPS, Glonass, USB Type-C port, NFC, and 3.5mm jack. It also boasts of two front-firing stereo speakers with smart amplifier, DTS Headphone: X 7.1 virtual surround-sound, and Qualcomm aptX high-def Bluetooth wireless audio. Sensors onboard are an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and ultrasonic AirTrigger sensors.
It measures 158.8×76.2×8.6mm and weighs 200 grams.
